FlightAware used to be a valuable source for useful articles -- what happened? More and more, it's just click-bait headlines from the usual pipelines directed to low-information readers. Whether it's Fox News Flash Headlines, msn.com, aeroexplorer.com, or whatever, give us a break!

Well, that was quite informative, but they should learn how to convey the details without so much verbiage.

I've long wondered why certain news outlets can't or won't allow articles linked to by a third party to be read free. It would allow exposure to unsubscribed readers who might actually like what they experience and decide to subscribe. Almost like free advertising, and the cost to the provider would presumably be minimal, even with an expected low result of new subscriptions. Seems short-sighted to me, but not a surprising approach from the corporate world.

Do you wear a seat belt when you drive? Or as a passenger on a commercial flight? Do you carry auto insurance when you drive? Do you comply with traffic signals and stop signs even when you perceive no need for them? Would an affirmative response to any of the above mean that you were, in fact, a sheep?

I've heard that SW has been out of stock in recent months, and 500-foot rolls of shrink wrap is being considered as a temporary on-board replacement.

Must have been a long, collapsible carry-on ladder!

Correct. the Civil Reserve Aircraft Fleet (CRAF) is a contracted agreement between the U.S. government and commercial airlines whereby the airlines provide airlift services as needed in times of emergency to supplement military air transport. The airlines in turn receive a guarantee of flight business in peacetime for those airlines who join the program, which has existed for 70 years or so.
